There are five communal areas across the two units, two in Elmcroft and three in Bindon:

Bindon has three sitting rooms, two of which have televisions with DVD and VCR facilities. One sitting room is connected to the library which provides a quiet reading area with a large variety of books for all tastes, along with a computer and internet access for the more technically minded.

Elmcroft has two sitting areas, one which looks out onto the passing world of Sidmouth and includes a television with DVD and VCR facilities. The second provides a quiet and tranquil atmosphere, where residents can listen to music or the radio and have access to a small private garden.

The communal rooms are warm and comfortable and include armchairs, coffee tables and personal side tables. The living rooms act as function areas for social, educational, religious worship events and meetings for residents.

The Garden

At the rear of the house the beautiful, spacious, gardens have been laid to lawn and extensive flat patio areas with seating, tables and a variety of shrubs and flowers provide the perfect place for warm summer days, crisp winter walks and socialising.

The small sensory garden provides a variety of colours, shapes and textures to stimulate conversation and the mind.

Those who are gifted with green fingers and who wish to participate in the gardening are welcome to use their skills.
